Innovation and sustainability: the two pillars at the heart of Fruit Logistica 2024

The motto of the fair, "The heartbeat of the fresh produce business," is embodied in the two core principles of innovation and sustainability.

This year, the theme of innovation is touched upon with various solutions such as the use of AI for a healthier harvest and the use of new systems to monitor the perishability of products, allowing for greater control over product quality.

Sustainability, on the other hand, is explored in depth with new packaging systems aimed at replacing plastic with paper altogether. Truly cutting-edge paperless labeling systems will also be presented.

The goal is to contribute to the growth of an increasingly digitized and sustainability-conscious industry, from both environmental and social perspectives.

This year, among the most anticipated events at Fruit Logistica 2024, you can participate in:

• Fresh Product Forum, at Hall 23: an opportunity to take a closer look at the new challenges facing the agricultural supply chain and dictated mainly by climate change, as well as new scenarios for the fresh fruit and vegetable sector.
• Future Lab, in Hall 7.2a, where new solutions, methods and approaches for international trade in fresh fruits and vegetables will be demonstrated.
• Logistics Hub, in Hall 26/A, where a series of meetings addressing refrigeration logistics and expected developments will be held.
• Tech Stage, at Hall 5.1, in which each company will have the opportunity, through "Ready to Speak," to present its innovative idea related to new machinery and/or technology in 20 minutes.
• Farming Forward. How to achieve more productive and sustainable agriculture? You'll find the answer in Hall 3.1, where solutions in controlled environmental agriculture (CEA) will be on display.
• Start up Day. The special format will be offered again this year in Hall 5.1: an opportunity for networking between innovative startups and established fruit and vegetable companies.
• FLIA - Fruit Logistic Innovation Award. In addition to the prestigious award in the fruit and vegetable sector, there is an important new addition this year: the FLIA Technology, an award for the most efficient and sustainable solutions and technologies.
